When you become a business owner, your business becomes your life. Every little decision you make seems amplified because you are so invested in your venture. You have created this incredible thing, nurtured it, and are watching it grow. Success is what we all strive for and every good decision made is a step closer to achieving it.

The brand that will be the face of your company is an important decision all business owners have to make. After all, you are going to be looking at it every day so you need to be happy with it. You also need to be sure that it will attract and please the right audience if you want your business to grow.

The first step to achieving this is to find the right designer. Do not take this decision lightly either! The designer you choose needs to be the right fit for you and your business. If you feel excited when you walk away from your first meeting with a designer, there is a good chance they are the one. If not, ask yourself ‘why not?’

  • Did you feel they were not quite on the same page as you?

  • Were they not taking your ideas into consideration?

  • Were they not willing to be flexible?

  • Did they show a lack of enthusiasm?

  • Did you just not like their ideas?

  • Did you simply not feel a connection with this person?

Your designer needs to understand you and the goal you desire to achieve. Are they expanding on your own ideas or dismissing them without explanation? A good designer will always listen to what it is you want and help develop your ideas into a professional design concept. So, be wary of the designer that just says ‘no’ or does not appear to be listening to your requests, you may end up unhappy with the results.

The right designer will ‘get it right’ for you over and over again. So, once you have found the perfect fit, hang on to them like your life depends on it!
